Ben Mason, developer & webmaster for Bedford Escape Rooms, tells us about how Bubble's no-code platform made creating a system to book appointments for their unique experience a breeze. With the ability to share prototypes of the website and use any third party plugins to achieve precise specifications, Bubble's no-code web app builder was the clear choice.

Tell us about your app and what it does.

Bedfordescaperooms.co.uk is the online presence and booking system of Bedford Escape Room Ltd. It includes an overview of the Escape Rooms and the services they offer. The app features a bespoke booking slot system.

How does your app work?

The app has been created with a standard entertainment/event website in mind, the homepage is used for offers and news updates along with dedicated booking, gifts and information pages. All of which can be adjusted by the client through a bespoke administration system.

Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.

My background is in traditional web development, Bubble offers a hassle free solution to fast deployment with zero compromise to design or usability. The price point I can offer this kind of solution to clients is much lower when built on Bubble than coded from the ground up.

Why did you build your app on Bubble?

I chose Bubble because of the ability to deploy a solution quickly with readymade plugins for all major 3rd party services I expected to need (Stripe in this situation). I was also able to work closely with my client, using the test versions of the app, to demonstrate how features will work and gain feedback as the development progressed.

What have been your milestones or successes so far?

The official launch of bedfordescaperooms.co.uk has been the biggest milestone for sure, it’s gone very well, a few teething problems with voucher codes and discounts for larger groups have occurred but because the Bubble development environment allows such a fast turnaround in changes I’ve been able to deploy fixes faster than ever before, minimizing the impact to the client and their customers.

What are your future plans for your app?

The client is planning an additional escape room, this will launch with a homepage redesign in time for Halloween. I have also discussed offering different payment solutions in the future so PayPal is likely to be deployed soon as well.
