We offer a 14-day free trial of our Starter plan! At the end of the free trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan. Please note that the trial is only available for the Starter plan; if you upgrade to a higher plan while on the trial, you will immediately be charged for the higher plan.

Understanding Charges on Your Bubble Account

Mistaken or unexpected charges on your Bubble account may arise due to several scenarios. Below, we'll provide a detailed explanation of common situations and clarify Bubble's billing policies to help you understand and resolve these issues effectively.

Pre-authorization Holds

When activating a free trial, Bubble performs a $1 pre-authorization check on your card to verify the validity of the payment method. This is not an actual charge but a temporary authorization that may appear on your statement. It typically expires within 7 days and is automatically released back to your account. In some cases, users may see multiple $1 charges on their statements due to repeated pre-authorization checks. Each time a pre-authorization is performed to validate a payment method for a trial, a temporary $1 hold may be placed on the card. These charges are not processed and will automatically return to your account within seven days.

Per-App Subscription Model

Bubble subscriptions are billed on a per-application basis. This means each of your applications requires its own subscription plan and will be billed separately. For example, if you have three applications subscribed to the Starter Plan, you will see three individual charges on your account. Unfortunately, subscriptions cannot be transferred between applications. By understanding the billing system at an app level, users can better manage subscriptions. Each app in Bubble is treated as a separate subscription. This means that charges will apply individually. Downgrading unused apps promptly or canceling free trials before their expiration dates will help prevent unexpected charges.

Transition from Free Trial to Paid Plans

Free trials automatically convert into paid plans at the end of the trial period unless canceled beforehand. This process applies on a per-application basis, meaning each app with an active trial will independently transition to a paid plan. For instance, if you have multiple apps on free trials and do not cancel them, each app will incite its own charge, leading to multiple charges in your account. Ensuring timely cancellation of unused trials or downgrading inactive apps before the trial's end date helps mitigate unexpected charges.

Examples of Common Billing Scenarios

  • If you subscribed two apps to a free trial and did not cancel either, both apps will automatically transition to a paid plan at the end of the trial, resulting in two charges.

  • Three applications subscribed to the same plan will result in three separate charges. These charges are not duplicates but reflect the per-app subscription policy.

Bubble's Refund Policy

Bubble generally does not offer refunds for subscriptions. For detailed information, consult our Refund Policy.

Steps to Resolve Billing Concerns

  • Review the apps associated with your account. Check how many are currently active under a paid plan.

  • If you suspect charges were made in error or require assistance to cancel a subscription, contact Bubble Support.

  • For trial-period cancellations, ensure you take action before the trial’s expiration to avoid automatic charges.- Regularly monitor your billing activity to verify and track charges, ensuring they correspond to active subscriptions.

  • Deactivate subscriptions for applications that are no longer actively used to prevent unnecessary expenses.
